We all go through different struggles throughout our lives whether that be mental, physical, abuse, depression or other. Some of could probably relate and some of could probably only imagine the damage that has been done and is still being done. Even if we can't understand, we will still try whether it be talking directly or simply being there for that person.
Lets get to the reason why I'm making this blog post, something which is so sensitive and personal. There have been times I've felt like hating myself, sometimes I've felt that maybe it was a mistake to follow the path I want and should have mindlessly follow what my parents wanted me to be. There have been times when I've cried over feeling like a failure just for some grades.
Sometimes its not always easy trying to make it out of the darkness, it always seems to creep up on you when you least expect it and isn't so easy to let you go. It can feel that there is no way out, almost as if it's suffocating the life out of you. If feels everyone who you call for help is out of your reach but they aren't. Asking for help does not make you weak and even if it is scary, you shouldn't feel scared to ask them.
One way that can help relieve that darkness is talking to someone, and I know this type of advice has probably been said over and over again but it does really help. Talk to a friend, one you feel you can confide in with anything or talk to a trusted member of the family, if those are not good then try talking to maybe a teacher or a therapist. There will always be someone out there that you can just talk to and let everything out.
Another way that I sometimes find happiness, is involving myself in different activities, if you're in school or university, join a club/society, that does something that you enjoy or have an interest in. You could also do other hobbies you may have, such a photography, dancing, gym and other stuff. The fun thing about joining a club/society is that you'd be surrounded by people who love to do the same things you love, with that you'll meet new people and make new friends. Sometimes the darkness can always be there waiting to get at you but when in you're in your club or society, feel free to forget all that and enjoy that brief moment of fun and freedom.
The city can sometimes feel a bit suffocating especially if you live in a city with a very large population, the high skyscrapers, towers, buildings can feel like they are looming over you. Seeing all the people, loud sounds and even busy atmosphere can be a bit of an overload and can put someone down. Regardless of where you are in the world, if you feel like the place where you live is too much, take a day trip, week trip, or more just to take a break from it all. You could go to the countryside, go abroad, and see things that you don't usually see, to put your mind at easy.
I don't claim to be an expert and nor do I know all the different specific struggles a person can face. However, I've seen many of my friends go through a numerous amount of struggles over the years and I hope that this little blog post and some ideas can help those looking for a little light in the darkness. If you ever need to someone to talk to, drop me a message sometime, on insta, twitter or even on here. I don't claim to have all the answers, nor would I say I am a professional. If it is something very urgent and very damaging a professional may be a better person to go to.
Hope you all have a fabulous day.
